I never really looked into the bokumono fandom until around two years ago so I dont know how release went, but the Sugar Valley games Save the Homeland and the remake Hero of Leaf Valley I find are one (two technically) of the games in the series that can go a bit underlooked. These games have cool features like
- NG+ where you keep your money, animals, and tools
- Multiple endings
- A individual route for almost everyone
- A part 2 story (HOLV only)
- T-Posing for dominance
While my current backlog (as of writing this) prevents me from playing atm, I do enjoy talking about Sugar Valley

I loooooove Sugar Valley!!! I wish Marina could have kept her STH appearance, but nevertheless - it seems like a lot of the fandom skips over STH and HOLV which is a huge mistake )):

This part of the universe could definitely use some sort of remake or new project. I liked StH, but the stopping after a certain point definitely hampered it for me. And HoLV was a bit of a project because of load times. Having a portable game that takes 15-20 minutes to get through a day (Maybe because I mined too much) seemed too much.

Yeah, I'd love if Leaf Valley got another chance some day. I never got to play it but loved StH, even if it feels, well, very strongly like an early PS2 game. Experiencing all that extra polish and new features from the PSP version, without actually having to go get a PSP, would be great.

Sadly, HoLV is one of the few games I don’t have. I’d have to pay quite a bit if I want a physical copy with its case and manual. But I do own StH, and I wish more people liked it. Sure, there’s no marriage in that one, but you can still sorta woo the girls anyway, and I like being able to get different endings. I’ll get HoLV eventually, and besides the loading issues, I think I’ll really like it. It sounds like a big improvement to a game I already liked. And everyone looks so pretty.

I adore Save the Homeland and I truly wish both of these games were played more by the fandom as a whole. (This really could be applied to other games but as we're only talking about Sugar Valley here-) The branching event system is probably my favorite thing about it, just as it was in Island of Happiness.

I want my gf to play these games, what order do you think I should get her to play them in? Start with Save the Homeland, as the game ends after each story arc. For continuous play and the additional Funland plot (+new characters), move on to Hero of Leaf Valley!

Admin Scarlet the story arc thing always confused the heck out of me, it seemed like it would end after 1 year, but why I'm not sure why the decision was made to end it immediately after the arc was finished..It would be nice to finish the whole year, but I guess it was done for people who wanted to move on immediately to the next one instead of dragging things out.
