I had a week long break after wintersession and it's already over... I'm gonna miss it. (and all the princess maker I've been playing.) slightly afraid because I've been going to bed at 3AM and waking up at 11AM that entire time... and my first class tomorrow is at 8AM... wish me luck, though. hopefully I won't be too sleep deprived.

Are ya excited??? It's going to be your first day in your new major!! oh hell yeah! excited but nervous... mainly because I'm worried about getting my velocity back up to speed after a week of sedentary-ness. but I'll be fine, I'm just a huge worrywart is all, haha.

My spring semester started first full week of January. Iv been slogging away at it and SOS is calling my name so hard. Iv only gotten to play a few hours since semester started. Most of them I played on my birthday this last weekend. What classes are you taking this semester?

Do you also feel like spring semester is slower than the fall semester? I always get really lethargic around February/March and I sure am Feeling it right now (also late happy birthday!) Good luck on your studies! I'm really busy with my final year of uni, but I've got winter break coming up next week so hopefully things will slow down a bit then. I'm also curious to hear about the classes you'll be taking kiwibasket

Most of them I played on my birthday this last weekend. What classes are you taking this semester? we actually have a wintersession from jan to feb -- it's a five week intensive course -- before our spring semester. then we get a week of break before spring semester starts. so that's why we have such a late start, lol. also, happy belated birthday! Good luck on your studies! I'm really busy with my final year of uni, but I've got winter break coming up next week so hopefully things will slow down a bit then. I'm also curious to hear about the classes you'll be taking kiwibasket I'm taking "waterbased silkscreen I" today and on tuesday I'm taking "intaglio I". then I'm either gonna take "tea, coffee, or chocolate" or "intro to material culture" as a liberal arts class; it depends on whether I get in, since I'm on the waitlist for both. (if that seems like a pretty light schedule it's cus the studio classes here are 5 hours lol. so that kinda makes up for it. also I'm on a reduced courseload because I've got ADHD, so that's part of it too.) my first class is in half an hour, so I'll let you guys know how it goes later on!!

Hence the slogging away at it. I'm currently going back for my LPN to RN and I already have a BA. So taking 200 level classes again is not too bad. I'm taking Medical Microbiology and Sociology. Semester GPA of 3.5 so far. Hoping to get a 4.0 this semester.

What is Waterbased silkscreen? I think i did that forever ago. I was sad that when I was working on my BA there was no textile art classes. I agree on the courseload thing though, personally I have found with ADHD it goes better if I am a part time student. In the Fall and next Spring I have to be full time. I am super anxious about it already. Dyslexia does not help either, but at least there is lots of digital textbooks now with read aloud option. Makes getting through the textbook nearly 5x faster. I hope you have a few classes you enjoy. Medical Microbiology is a beast but supper fascinating.

I hope you have a few classes you enjoy. Medical Microbiology is a beast but supper fascinating. waterbased silkscreen is silkscreening but using water-soluble inks instead of oil inks. it's a lot safer and much easier to use for silkscreen because you can just hose all the ink off instead of having to use gamsol to clean it and stuff. I ended up choosing to use akua ink (soy-based and water-soluble) a lot in my monotype class during wintersession because I liked not having to worry about things like wetting the paper and wearing gloves and stuff, and I could paint with my hands (I'm 5). that's so weird and disappointing that your school didn't have a textiles class, though :/ textiles are super cool... does your school have disability services? through mine I was able to get a reduced courseload while still being a full-time student, which is nice. some schools also gives you access to an audiobook library, which could be useful if you had to read a textbook that wasn't digital. Oooh this all sounds very exciting. I hope you get into that class you're waitlisted for. Do let us know! I'm oddly fascinated with other people's studies for some reason. thanks! me too. my first day was really good! I kept almost falling asleep though because it was so early though, haha. our professor is this older guy who looks kinda like the pinocchio's dad. he goes on tangents a bit and they're kinda funny. we learned how to degrease and make a stencil on our screens also everyone in my new major seems pretty nice! there was even someone else in my class who switched from illustration to printmaking (like I did) and she went up and talked to me so I ended up (gasp) ... talking to people?! during break time??!? anyway my next class is on monday so I guess I have a little bit more break before things start getting super crazy, but I think things will turn out well!!

My school does have a disability services, it is required for any school that receives FASFA funds ie federal student loans. My school is able to request digital text books even for my textbooks that are only available in print to the public. It falls under some of the new ADA rules that apply to education. Its how I got a copy of my sociology textbook digitally. Bad part is you still have the buy the physical book. So I just use it as a read along story time and highlight as it reads to me. Makes life much better. The waterbased silkscreen, I think I did that in high school sounds identical to my silk hoop I dyed. Was so much fun. I want to start oil painting again. It would be a blast.

my second day of classes is today. it's at 1pm est -- "tea, coffee, or chocolate." i wonder if it'll be a good class for me to take, considering i don't drink tea OR coffee (or any hot drink for that matter... lol) but it sounds really interesting. it might be better for me to take material culture, considering that's more broad, but... eh, we'll see.

ok so I lied -- it was the "intro to material culture" class, which was amazing... and also full. argh... honestly I'm not sure if I'm going to get into any liberal arts courses, considering the tea/coffee/chocolate one is probably gonna be pretty popular, and the safety class that I have, "global englishes," I couldn't even sign up for because I tried to do it too late. it's frustrating because the only reason why I'm so late is because I never got a spring semester course sign-up timeslot in the first place...

YOU GUYS??? OH MY GOD? ?? ? I GOT THE CLASS??? i was in the middle of my backup liberal arts class, and i checked my email to get some of the readings, and the intro to material culture teacher sent me an email letting me know that someone had dropped the class, and if i was still interested i could join and FUCK YEAH i did. oh man. and i was so stressed too, because the backup class i chose ("globalizing englishes," which is about how there are multiple different types of englishes and how colonization and british dominance and the idea of one "official" language has affected all these different types of englishes) it was interesting but god i was SO out of my depth. it's one of those classes where you have to read 6 novels in a semester and the teacher knows SO much but also tells you so much too and it was just super overwhelming. like literally he was like "yeah i'm writing a book about this and this seminar and the discussions in it are also to help me with writing this book" and in my head i think "bro i can barely say a coherent sentence." SO i'm just really, really, really goddamn relieved, holy shit.
